In 1986, the Canadian Red Cross in Saskatchewan launched what is now known as the Great Saskatchewan Red Cross Lottery. Over the last 30 years, the lottery has raised millions to help tens of thousands of people across the province affected by disaster.

“Funds from the lottery have helped people affected by flooding, forest fires, even tornados,” said Monika Zmetana, provincial gaming coordinator for the Canadian Red Cross. “You’re not just buying a ticket, you’re providing food, clothing, shelter and medicine for those forced to flee their homes.”

Lottery tickets go on sale today for as low as $40 each, and can be purchased online at redcross.ca/sklottery, by calling the Red Cross toll free at 1-800-667-9941, by mail or by visiting any Red Cross office in the province.

This year’s Grand Prize draws include $100,000 cash and a $10,000 dream vacation.

The Early Bird deadline is June 7, 2016, where you could win $50,000 cash or one of three $5,000 travel vouchers from Marlin Travel. Also, when you purchase a Quad Pack, you will be entered into an additional draw for $10,000 cash, with only a limited number of Quad Pack tickets available.

“All proceeds stay in Saskatchewan, which is important considering that our province sees its share of disasters,” said Zmetana.

The first deadline is midnight on April 22 for the VIP draw of $25,000 cash.

This year’s lottery also includes a 50/50 draw, as well as scratch and win tickets where you could instantly win $40 cash. To celebrate the lottery’s 30th birthday, the Red Cross is also giving away a $5,000 vacation for each month in April, May and June.
